This creamy, cheesy 5-Ingredient Queso Dip is easy to make and tastes just like the ones from your favorite restaurant!
If you’re looking for a quick and easy queso dip recipe, you’ve come to the right place. This is the kind of no-fuss recipe that requires just stirring all the ingredients together and simmering for a bit, and then it’s all done and ready for dipping!
This creamy, cheesy queso dip has convinced me that anything is possible. You don’t need a long list of ingredients or complicated cooking steps to create something delicious. In fact, it takes under 10 minutes and a total of 5 ingredients. If you haven’t made homemade queso before, I hope you give this one a try. I think you’ll agree with me that making queso isn’t all that difficult.
This is the ultimate dip for serving at your next holiday get-together, tailgating party, or Taco Tuesday. I’ve made so many dips recipes over the year, and this queso dip is hands down my go-to option. It has a perfect consistency, tastes addictingly satisfying, and is made with simple pantry ingredients. Totally my kind of recipe. Not to mention, it’s ALWAYS something that disappears when I serve it to my family and friends.
As you probably guessed, there’s always that “secret” ingredient to make the best queso dip. Here’s mine: RAGÚ® Double Cheddar Sauce! It’s got that silky, creamy, cheesy consistency, which makes it an easy and convenient sauce to enhance family favorite dishes like potatoes and pastas, and in this case, the perfect base for queso. Just a handful of ingredients is all you need to jazz it up and turn it a rich, creamy, velvety queso dip.
I picked up RAGÚ® Double Cheddar Sauce in its new lightweight packaging, along with the rest of the ingredients from Walmart.
What kind of cheese should I use for queso?
I like to use cheddar cheese since it melts really well, but you can also try Monterrey jack, pepper jack, or gouda.
How to serve
- You can keep it warm in a small slow cooker to serve with tortilla chips or raw veggies, drizzle it over fries (cheese fries, YUM!), or serve with Tex-Mex dishes like enchiladas and tacos.
- It’s also delicious over-baked potatoes and roasted vegetables.
How to store and reheat
- Store cooled queso dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Reheat over low heat on the stove or in the microwave, stirring frequently, until warmed through.
What are some other variations to this queso dip:
- Add a dash of your favorite hot sauce or diced jalapenos for spicy queso.
- Stir in cooked Mexican chorizo or ground meat cooked with taco seasoning.
- Add black beans and corn for a chunky dip.
- Add diced chipotle peppers in adobo for a smoky flavor.
