Warm up with this comforting Coconut Chai Tea infused with spices such as cinnamon, ginger, and star anise!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve always had a hard time getting ready in the morning, especially this time of the year when it’s getting cooler and it is still dark out when I leave for work. Last month, I decided to get into the habit of waking up early to get my workout in before work. Some days I’m so busy at work by the time I get home the end of the day, I am too tired and find myself looking for excuses to not go to the gym.
And let me tell you, it hasn’t been easy at all, but so worth it! It’s truly a matter of willpower and just like any habit, it takes quite some time to adjust. Small, simple changes can lead to big results. I’m loving this new routine because I feel as though I’m totally crushing it, feeling energized and ready to tackle my morning commute. Not only that, it gives me the boost of energy to be more productive in little things in the morning like packing my lunch and even making myself a hot drink on-the-go before I head out.
I have been making and enjoying this Coconut Chai Tea lately and can’t wait to share with you how easy it is to make it.
Chai tea is typically made with black tea and infused with warming spices such as cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, black pepper, and star anise. The method is simple: steep tea with spices in hot water, strain, and add steamed milk for creaminess. I also sweeten with a drizzle of honey for the perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavor!
I make my homemade Coconut Chai Tea directly in these handy Dixie® To Go cups so that I can enjoy it on the go. With their leak-resistant lid and insulated layer, you can keep your beverage hot without worrying about spilling everywhere. Plus, there’s no washing or cleanup involved which means I have one less thing to worry about. Talk about crushing it!
What I love about making my own chai tea is that I can customize with the type and amount of spices that go into the tea. Feel free to add more or less spice to your tea depending on taste preference – ginger and cinnamon are my favorites so I always put a little extra in mine.
